Jordan: CSR advocacy body launched
Date: 23 Mar 2009
A new body to promote business engagement with the local community has been launched as the National Forum for Social Responsibility. It brings together 50 public, private and civil society founding members.
According to the Jordan Times, the forum will be an umbrella organisation, bringing together companies that are committed to community giving, and facilitated by Al Urdun Al Jadid Research Centre.
The centre aims to encourage greater levels of year-round philanthropic activity, and in pursuit of this it will produce an annual report on CSR activity in Jordan. It will also offer training to companies in setting up CSR policies, and provide consultancy.
